The long-running Neko Gurashi series has finally reached its third installment. Following parts 1 and 2, we start off again with Mike-neko, who always goes first. I don't think this counts as a spoiler since it's already in the track list, but this time the audio includes healing moments with a shrunken-down Mike-neko as well. Thanks to Kamisaka-san's skillful voice acting, I really felt how adorable she is. One thing I noticed is that this time there was more emphasis on conversation and story elements with Mike-neko than on ASMR itself. So compared to previous works, the healing/ASMR elements might be a bit lighter. That said, I personally felt there was still plenty of healing to be had. If you're a fan of Mike-neko, I think you'll enjoy this without any issues.
The third installment of the Neko Gurashi series also starts off with Mike-neko-chan. This time the story follows Mike-neko-chan climbing Nekoma Mountain together with her master. In the first two works, Mike-neko-chan provided healing treatments to her master, but in this one the mood is more about enjoying the mountain scenery together with him, with the ASMR elements toned down in favor of a stronger focus on story. Maybe it's because of the head proprietress's power, but the scene where Mike-neko-chan suddenly shrinks is definitely a highlight to listen for. It was fun getting to experience a different kind of charm from Mike-neko-chan than before. I'm endlessly curious whether the other cat girls will also get shrunk down in future installments.
The long-awaited Neko Gurashi Season 3 has arrived, and this time it's a mountain climb, with Mike-neko-chan guiding us at the start. Seeing how genuinely happy Mike-neko-chan looks at being reunited with the protagonist makes me grin and melt with moe feelings. The way she can't quite hide her joy even while feeling shy is just irresistible. Throughout the work, Mike-neko-chan repeatedly says the word "happy," and it comes through so clearly just how much she loves the protagonist—almost overwhelmingly so. Her strong desire to devote herself to him for his sake really shows what a good girl she is. The ear-cleaning part was so soothing that I found myself dozing off partway through. At one point, something happens that makes Mike-neko-chan feel down, and in that moment I felt this urge to protect her, to encourage her. That's just how earnest and sweet she is...! I also really loved getting glimpses, through the conversations, of her interactions with the other cat girls. Nekoma Mountain, where so many mysterious things happen—I wonder if we'll get to explore it with the other cat girls too...? I'm looking forward to the next installment. In the story, the protagonist is ultimately supposed to choose one of the cat girls, but they're all so wonderful I can't possibly choose...! Every single one of them is cute, kind, and charming!
