Guess Who? [CV: Konomi Kohara / Ikumi Hasegawa]

The protagonist is slumped over his desk, asleep in the classroom after school. Then two high school girls appear before him—Sui (CV. Yoshimi Ohara), mysterious and mischievous, and Rei (CV. Ikumi Hasegawa), the calm one who plays the straight man. Just who are they, really? What's their purpose in coming to the classroom? That's the gist of the story. With two voice actresses appearing in it, this is great value for the price. Especially Sui's character—it feels like a rare role for Ohara-san, who often plays gentle, slightly airheaded characters. ■ Content Ear-blowing → ear-rubbing → ear-cleaning. Even though it's compactly put together at 42 minutes, it covers pretty much all the classic ASMR situations. Personally, what really gets me is the earnest, mumbling voices that slip out from the two of them while they're focused on the ear-cleaning, going "Fuu, uun, ei." ■ Overall Review Most people who find this work are probably fans of the cast, and for them it's an unreserved recommendation. Even for those who aren't, it's reasonably priced as a short story, and although I can't reveal the true identities of the two characters in detail since it would be a spoiler, you're left with a refreshing afterglow once you finish listening. A great pick for ASMR beginners too.

Of course it's a solid ASMR work in its own right, but more than anything, this was a work overflowing with the charm of the two voice actresses who starred in it. The voices and back-and-forth between "Sui" and "Rei" are addictive. ■ "Sui," played by Yoshimi Ohara The combination of Ohara-san's characteristic whispery, cute voice with her mischievous character is wonderful. There's also a mysterious quality to not knowing what she's thinking, and her sudden, unexpected remarks sometimes send a thrill through you. ■ "Rei," played by Ikumi Hasegawa In other ASMR works, Hasegawa-san tends to give the impression of playing more cute-leaning characters, but in this work her voice leans cool and composed. Her calm voice feels pleasant to the ear, and her cool retorts to Sui's sudden remarks make you chuckle. For those looking for a healing ASMR work, fans of Ohara-san and Hasegawa-san, and those looking for an ASMR work with a slightly different flavor from the rest—this is a work I'd recommend to all kinds of people.

Basically, ASMR works that cast professional voice actresses tend to be mainly about talking. They keep talking even during the ear-cleaning. That's understandable since the purpose is to get fans of the voice actress to buy it, but as someone who loves the sound effects of ear-cleaning and massage, I sometimes find myself wishing they'd stay quiet a bit more, or do the ear-cleaning for longer. So I tend to prefer ASMR by doujin voice actresses, which tends to have longer ear-cleaning parts and less talking. This work is just a single track a little over 40 minutes, but despite casting two famous voice actresses, it's only 330 yen. I got pulled in by Ohara-san and the cheap price and ended up buying it, but I was surprised at how well it matched the balance I was looking for. Out of the ASMR works that cast professional voice actresses, this one has the least talking. If the cost of the voice actresses is based on the amount of text, then it makes sense that it could be made this cheap. Fans of the voice actresses might be disappointed if they buy this, but I really hope this series continues.
