She appears in all sorts of works regardless of age rating, but works aimed at all ages tend to be fewer for her, and especially solo-cast all-ages audio works are rare even on DLsite — I felt this was one of those precious few.

The title says "mean," but I didn't really feel any sadistic streak from the heroine, nor was there much of a mischievous little-devil vibe. It's not really a work geared toward masochists who enjoy being teased by the heroine. Rather than "mean," it feels more like casual, affectionate teasing between people who are close — from an outside perspective it would probably look like a lovey-dovey couple, and given how the protagonist just lets the heroine take the lead in that state, I got the impression their relationship might even be openly acknowledged in class. By design, the protagonist — just like the listener — can only piece together the nature of their relationship from the heroine's words and actions, so I never felt any emotional distance from the character and found it easy to listen to while projecting myself into the protagonist's position. The voice actress Aino Mimori's voice has such a gentle, healing quality that I had long wished to hear more heartwarming, lovey-dovey works like this. Since I'd rarely come across lovey-dovey works with light sexual content, I was really glad to get to listen to this one.

One of those is the "mean" behavior mentioned in the title... but it doesn't come from negative feelings — it's more like playful teasing toward someone she's interested in. Setting aside the "not recognizing her" part, the way the two of them are together is exactly like a sweet, bittersweet youthful couple. As you can tell from the track list... they flirt, she lets him lie on her lap, cleans his ears, and so on. In the end, it becomes a happy ending just as everyone would expect... but it's nice to realize you can still enjoy a story even without any unexpected surprises. I think a big part of why I could feel that way comes down to the voice actress's gentle, warm performance. A youthful story between two people that starts from a slightly mysterious relationship — I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy not just healing but also a (not-too-heavy) story.
