The 'Shonioya!' series has been steadily marrying off its characters starting with Amae, and now Rio has finally become a newlywed too. Well, simply put, the visuals are great! Her wedding dress look is beautiful, and wow, her chest has gotten quite something. She had that 'older sister' vibe from her very first appearance, but her even more mature-looking standing art is just the best... When it comes to newlywed situations, eating a home-cooked meal made by the wife is a common trope, but in this work, the two of them eating store-bought bento together feels so fitting for Rio and her partner! In a way, they could have easily gone with a simple home-cooked meal scene, but the fact that they're both working full-time and coming home late, so they eat store-bought bento together instead — it really shows that the scenario was written with the characters in mind, and I thought that was great. It conveyed the sense that even without homemade food, just being together is happiness. That said, Rio does bring up home cooking later on, so if the 'Shonioya!' series continues into 'several years after marriage' scenarios, maybe the day will come when we get to hear about Rio's home cooking. Lately, perhaps due to the aging fan base of anime and such, there's a growing trend of accepting characters around 30 years old — in some works, even a student's mother gets surprisingly popular. So how about a 'Shonioya! 10 YEARS AFTER' series? From her very first appearance, Rio had a mature atmosphere without being overly bubbly, but now that she's married, there's a wonderful sense of calm alongside a feeling of the couple's happiness. Yoshimi Kohara's calm-toned voice as Rio is so soothing too. It really sinks in. Rio smiling for me — that alone is All my treasures.

I had been eagerly looking forward to this release date ever since it was announced. Yoshimi Kohara has appeared in many ASMR works, but among them, Rio from the 'Shonioya' series is my favorite by far. It started out as a customer-and-shop-staff relationship, gradually became something more than friends, and finally, in this installment, they get married. It's a deeply moving feeling somehow. Even more than the previous work, Rio's kindness and love toward the protagonist come through in Kohara's performance, and it's simply the best, no other way to put it. For those who haven't listened to the first or second work yet, I definitely recommend buying and listening to those two first before listening to this one. The emotional impact is on a completely different level.
