Fans of Ui and Blue Archive who want a calm, tender rainy-day companionship experience.
On a quiet rainy day, Ui sits close beside you, whispering softly as she looks after you. Gentle hand-care sounds and a soothing reading-aloud segment fill this intimate binaural session.
This is a work where you get to spend time with Ui, a bookworm who belongs to the library committee — basically the epitome of a shut-in. Leading with the book restoration work she also does in the game, plus a reading segment, this work has a content that feels quite "her." Her voice is overall on the downer side, but her emotions still come through clearly, and the way she seems happy spending time with sensei (the listener) is incredibly endearing. Just her voice alone is healing, but ASMR elements like rain sounds and the sound of pages turning are also woven in, making this a very well put-together work as an audio drama. The breaths sprinkled throughout are also wonderful. ...But there's one thing I absolutely have to mention. This is definitely NOT suited for helping you fall asleep. There's this extremely distinctive scream/cry she makes in the game too (when you get hit, maybe?), and if I'm counting correctly, you can hear it about 3 times in this work. Lying in bed, eyes closed, in the deep darkness, suddenly hearing a "whehh-aaaah!?" or "fuwehhh-aaaah!?" — like the pathetic shriek of a vampire suddenly exposed to sunlight. "There's no way... I can sleep... with THIS...!!" No, but honestly it's totally fine. It's incredibly cute, and audio works aren't just for listening to while sleeping anyway. Strictly speaking I haven't actually tested it yet, so maybe it's not impossible to sleep through this scream. But since the sample-only portion just gives off a mellow atmosphere and might trick you — er, I mean, might give you the wrong impression — I just wanted to point out that it's not suited for that particular use case. It's really good though! It's cute though! Honestly I feel like you could buy this just for the scream alone! Right!?
This was a wonderful ASMR that really conveys the staff's love for Koseki Ui. There are 5 ASMR tracks split across different situations, like drying off sensei who came to the old bookstore in the rain, or sensei helping with the work Ui normally does. Unlike typical ASMR, this one's distinctive feature is that Ui's characteristic strange cries occasionally pop up throughout. For an ASMR meant to promote restful sleep and comfort, strange cries might seem like a taboo, but in terms of bringing out the character's individuality, this is definitely close to the right approach — even amid the strange cries, you can still clearly hear the sound of breathing and Ui's gentle voice, which only reinforces the sense of comfort. On top of that, the constant crackling of the fireplace and the sound of rain outside are excellent too, and hearing that pleasant ambient sound even when Ui isn't talking is a nice touch for the listener. Of course, Ui's voice itself is wonderful, so this works excellently not just as ASMR but as work BGM too. My personal recommendation is the bonus track 15-minute timer — around the 14:30 mark she comes to wake you up, and I was curious how Ui, who surely couldn't be the type to forcefully wake someone up, would do it, but incredibly, she wakes you up with her strange cry. It's an unusual way to wake up both for an ASMR and for a timer, but it snaps you awake remarkably well, and since it puts the character of Koseki Ui front and center, it's practically a perfect answer. Honestly, this was my first time listening to ASMR, and I was worried it might shatter my image of my favorite character, but far from shattering it, it was a wonderful ASMR that actually accelerated my delusions. This is a top-tier ASMR I can recommend not only to Blue Archive fans but to ASMR beginners as well. If you're reading this review, go buy this ASMR right now, and while you're at it, go roll for swimsuit Ui too. By the way, don't worry, Ui doesn't smell bad. Ui is so cute.
I used to think there was no way I could listen to an ASMR of some winged birdbrain student. I thought as long as I had Hina's ASMR, that would be enough for me. But I was wrong. The pouring rain, Ui's concern about not wanting you to catch a cold. It was an extremely relaxing ASMR where you could feel the warmth of the fireplace. The sounds of working together on restoring old books were also really good. Ui's breathing, her breaths that you could feel in every little moment — the sense of immersion of "ah, she's really working right beside me right now." It has a different kind of appeal from the Hina ASMR released at the same time, drawing out Koseki Ui's charm to the fullest, further boosting that charm with the constant ambient sound of rain. But the one and only time Koseki Ui's signature strange cry, like "Hyaaa!", suddenly kicked in, the EX track "Sudden Change in Condition" started playing in my head and my heart nearly stopped, my life functions nearly ceasing. I managed to survive thanks to the Koseki Ui reading track afterward, but I want people to understand that this is NOT the same as a peaceful deep-sleep ASMR. It's an ASMR about relaxation, first and foremost — about feeling the happiness of spending the same time together with Koseki Ui. I think the best situation to listen to this is in the evening to nighttime. I'd recommend it for a moment of rest after work, or a lazy afternoon after club activities. Any sensei reading this review who's a Koseki Ui fan should buy this if they can afford to. Even I, who had no interest in this character before, was made to notice her charm through this. I originally wanted to give this 6 stars, but since 5 is the max, I'm reluctantly giving it 5. Ah, so this is where the Eden Treaty was. This is the happy ending — this is the story of our youth.
