To pinpoint the cause of the abnormal vibrations you'd been feeling while on duty, you and your Railroid partner "Mumumu" set out on a manual track inspection using a rail bike. The inspection wrapped up without incident, but the sunburn and exhaustion hit hard. While Mumumu tends to your sunburned skin, the two of you also put together a request for equipment improvements. Your request is heard, and a Railstar—a motorized track cycle—is introduced. Its powerful yet exhilarating engine sound resonates pleasantly through your very core. But for eardrums worn out from the roar of the engine, Mumumu is of course there to soothe them, slowly and thoroughly, with some gentle ear cleaning. Even during the time you spend lying together, Mumumu's chatter and deductions never stop, and along with the feelings hidden behind them, they gently seep into you, warming you through and through. The happiness of the time you spend together, deep and unhurried—surely you'll find yourself fully immersed in it.
A wise Railroid partner named "Mumumu," whose feelings toward you—feelings that can't quite be broken down through deduction alone—she finds strangely, pleasantly puzzling. I always fall asleep listening to voice works. Gentle conversations with characters, beautiful ambient sounds. Being wrapped in that kind of audio lets me drift right off to sleep. And the work that got me started on this lifestyle of enjoying voice works was a series called "Chikuon Rail." Even now, with countless voice works collected in my library, the ambient sound is so beautiful that I still listen to it over and over. And the conversations with the heroine have just the right volume—not too much, not too little. Everything about it was perfectly balanced, ideal for falling asleep, and I loved it. So, I thought, "Guess I'll fall asleep listening to Chikuon Rail again today." ...Eh!? A new release!? I bought it immediately. Apparently, the second season of an anime called "Rail Romanesque" is starting, and in conjunction with that, a new voice work has appeared as well. To be precise, the series is actually called "ASMR of Railworks," and it's supposed to let you enjoy train-related ambient sounds, but in practice, I was able to enjoy it as basically a new installment of "Chikuon Rail." As always, the tracks are packed to an extra-large volume with gorgeous ambient sounds and comfortable conversations with the heroine, and I couldn't help but think, "This sequel really delivers..." 100 points. Also, the heroine of this work, "Mumumu," is voiced by Tomori Kusunoki. ...Eh!? She's doing ASMR!? At least among voice works currently available for purchase, this is an extremely rare and valuable piece of work you can only hear here. Because of that, you get to enjoy things like the "whispering-in-your-ear voice" that can only be experienced through binaural audio, and it feels quite fresh. And she's really good at it, too... I personally hope Tomori Kusunoki gets a taste for this kind of work through this release, and goes on to appear in many more voice works in the future.
This is an ASMR work featuring the character "Mumumu," released ahead of the second season broadcast of the TV anime "Rail Romanesque." However, even listening with zero prior knowledge of the series or of trains, I was able to enjoy it fully. She's a lively, cheerful girl (voice), yet she speaks with the formal manner of speech typical of a detective—that gap is charming. And amid that formality, the frankness that peeks through now and then hints at the trust the two of you have built with each other. In the outdoor parts, cicadas chirp, and the vibrations and motor sounds of trains passing along the rails echo—and above all, Mumumu-chan's voice beside you, sometimes breathless and bouncing with energy, can't help but make you smile. In the indoor parts, where she tries to comfort and heal you, her tone shifts to something calm, a complete change from her boisterousness outside, and she gives you a sense of peace through massage and ear cleaning. Things I liked: 1. You catch glimpses of her getting excited when it comes to her specialty—deduction—and her catchphrase (?) that matches her name, "Mumumu-!", is just too cute! 2. In contrast to deduction about unmoving matters, she ponders "emotions"—unraveling the fluctuations of feelings and her fondness for you, sometimes speaking of it gently while a little embarrassed. It's a soothing, sleep-inducing part where simply having her beside you feels comfortable. 3. The sleeping-breath loop track A lifesaver. It made me want to watch the first season in anticipation of the anime broadcast.
This is probably Tomoriru's first long-form ASMR work, and I've been waiting for it forever... I love Tomoriru's whisper voice, so a few years back when she did an ASMR video for some mobile game promotion, I have memories of listening to it over and over again, lol. And this work is from RaRo, a studio with trust and a proven track record. The ambient sounds and ear-cleaning sounds are wonderful as always, and combined with Tomoriru's voice, it becomes a masterpiece beyond masterpieces. A must-listen for fans. The sleeping-breath loop is such a lifesaver...
