On his day off before a long business trip, a devoted maid named Amelia cares for her master at a seaside Western-style mansion. Between ear cleaning, tooth brushing, and falling asleep side by side, the sound of waves and gulls fills a gentle, affectionate summer day. The second entry in the "Maid and Mansion" series.
It's not so much that one particular track stood out — everything overall was good. The sense of closeness right from the start made my heart race; around the tooth-brushing part, the feeling of breath hitting more the front of my face than my ear was, personally, good. Also, simply put, the acting was great. You could call it a one-woman play, a solo stage, but it drew the listener into the story. Personally, I thought the crying performance was especially good. Definitely recommended for fans of the voice actress featured in this work.
I became a fan of Shion Wakayama through a certain anime, and I had been hoping she'd appear in an ASMR work someday — so when this one came out, I bought it immediately. There's ear-blowing right from the first track, and each of the other tracks also has direction that makes good use of Wakayama-san's voice. It was a wonderful work! Works from Kokorozukushi Oto-ya never miss, so I'm looking forward to their next release too.
The first work where I became conscious of Shion Wakayama's name was as Yumemi in SSSS.DYNAZENON. Back then I was deeply impressed by how her performance gradually thawed from a mysterious atmosphere into something more and more cute — but because of that, I just can't shake that image. The cool maid character here was wonderful, but the image of the "wisteria woman" (Yomogi) inevitably comes to mind first. That's just the nature of my "Yomoyume" bias, I suppose. Please forgive me. The work itself was wonderful, but I couldn't focus on listening as much as I'd like, and the quality of the ear-blowing felt a bit lacking. That said, I'll give it 5 stars in anticipation of further growth and progress going forward.
