My Little Sister Insists This Oatmeal Is White Rice

I was drawn in by a title that felt like it was several steps ahead of its time, and when I gave it a listen, it opened with a Pok〇mon glitch technique bit... and then, out of nowhere, she suddenly started dissing oatmeal... That's the kind of chaos it kicks off with, living up to (or maybe exceeding) the title. As for the content, she firmly insists that oatmeal is white rice. Even if you point out that the taste and everything else is different, she'll insist it's white rice no matter what. Sometimes she comforts you really gently while still insisting it's white rice. She even tries to imitate the voice of white rice with some weird speech tic at the end of her sentences, but she still insists it's white rice. Frankly, it's pure chaos. But I absolutely love works like this. It was so entertaining that the roughly 5 minutes flew by in an instant. I guess that's the fault of the white rice too.

This work is about a brother who started eating oatmeal for his health but ends up missing white rice, while his sister insists that what he's eating right now isn't oatmeal but white rice. That's the concept of the piece, but along the way there are also scenes where, no matter how you look at it, it's clearly oatmeal—and even that was pretty funny as a joke. It really conveyed how close this brother and sister are throughout the work, which was kind of healing.

I was so drawn in by the title that this was the first voice work I've ever bought on DLsite. It's short and cheap, so it's easy to buy and enjoy casually, making it a great value. I'm not sure if it's "perfect for when you want to eat oatmeal while pretending it's white rice," but the sister's slightly languid vibe and the overall surreal atmosphere were really entertaining. The references to things like Pokémon and Shuzo Matsuoka were hilarious in a way that subtly reveals your generation. The line about "it's not about approval-seeking, it's about body size" or something like that really hit the spot for me. It's a gag, but there's a strange kind of gentleness to it, like she's comforting you, and I really love that. If you listen to it when you're feeling a bit mentally worn down, you might end up crying without meaning to. I found myself wishing there was a game featuring this girl so I could buy it and play it.
