Previously in this series we had works like "Sana-koi" and "Remi-koi" in the "○○-koi" lineup, but for those of you thinking: "Satori Komeiji's 'Sato-koi' already exists, so why isn't there a 'Koi-koi' for Koishi Komeiji?!!!!" — you absolutely have to listen to this one!! Normally we're just at the mercy of Koishi's free-spirited whims, but this time we get to see a rare, dependable side of her. Well, the situation itself is so heart-pounding (?) that while listening, thoughts like "how dependable!" probably won't even cross your mind... From start to finish it was nonstop heart-pounding — truly a heart-pounding disc. Thank you, Earl Grey. Forever Earl Grey. Looking forward to Heart-Pounding Service Disc 3 as well.
A simple, beautiful work. It centers on whispering close to the ear, which makes your heart race in a good way. Sound effects like spell chanting appear now and then, but since there's basically no BGM, you can really focus on the lines. Koishi Komeiji, a character from the Touhou Project, has many mysterious aspects and can feel enigmatic, but in this work she comes across as a pure, innocent character showing a variety of expressions — and that's something to enjoy here too.
Thanks to the circle's gracious arrangement, I got to listen to the whole thing for free. Mai Kadowaki has a voice that brings to mind a young girl, and in this work too, things proceed with the kind of energy of a child excitedly making a fuss. Since young girls' voices don't particularly do anything for me, I ended up dozing off partway through, then suddenly jolted awake. Something felt off — about how the story was going. I rewound it and played it again from the beginning. In the latter half, a storm of gap-moe suddenly came raging in. It felt like playing around with BB pellets only to have a live round come flying at you. Bombarded with one seductive, bewitching phrase after another, my composure was thoroughly shaken by the time I reached the ending. To think I could enjoy something this much for free.
