This is a long-awaited audio work depicting the interaction between Railroad Suzushiro — one of the central characters introduced in the "Rail Romanesque" series — and you, her master and manager. This work also ties in with the final episode of the anime "Rail Romanesque 2," and with its setting once again in Goichiya City (Hitoyoshi City), it feels like a fitting milestone for the series. Looking back, the very first "Chikuon Rail" work released in autumn 2020 was also about searching for sounds with Suzushiro in Goichiya. But compared to back then, this time I really felt the distance between me and Suzushiro had become much closer. They're seriously lovey-dovey in this one. You can really feel how the various changes that have happened as the story progressed since the first Railroad Summit have been properly reflected here. It's a little sad that, just like with the anime, I'll be losing that weekly thing to look forward to, but while hoping for a sequel, I think I'll go back and relisten to the series from the very beginning.
This is the third installment featuring Suzushiro-chan, the de facto protagonist of the Rail Romanesque series. Uesaka Sumire's adorable voice gives such a sense of reassurance. She explains, in a gentle tone, the process of making the traditional craft "Kiji-uma" wooden horse and the local specialty bamboo baskets. Her down-to-earth impressions were nice too. I also appreciated that she talks properly during the ear-cleaning part as well. Her whispering voice has a pleasant tingling effect that runs through your whole body. It was a good work that made me understand why so many installments have been made with this same character.
You get to tour the traditional craft "Kiji-uma" wooden horse and the local specialty bamboo baskets together with Suzushiro, and I really enjoyed listening to her explanations from the very start of the production process to the end. Uesaka Sumire, who voices Suzushiro, has a voice that just slips right into your ears so smoothly — while listening, I found myself thinking how much fun an educational program would be if it had Suzushiro narrating the production process of all sorts of things. For me, Suzushiro really is what "Chikuon Rail" is all about. This one marks a turning point for the series, but I'm already looking forward to the next installment.
