This protagonist happens to be on close terms with the three sisters who live next door. Their families are so close they're practically one household, constantly going on trips together and sharing meals — in other words, they're the kind of neighbors who've grown up together like childhood friends. The three sisters are the eldest, Aya, a third-year high schooler; the second, Aoi, a second-year high schooler; and the youngest, Akane, a first-year high schooler — each born a year apart, and each with a completely different personality. Since the protagonist has no particular talents to speak of, everyone around him calls him "Bon-chan," a nickname meaning "utterly average." Will this Bon-chan show us a side of himself that shines brightly in this story? Or will he not...?
Unlike the level-headed Aya, Aoi is a headlong, full-speed-ahead kind of girl. Even at school she's energetic and wildly spirited, with lots of friends. The voice actress's voice matched the image of the voice from the package illustration really well, so I was able to immerse myself in the work without any sense of discomfort at all. It starts off with a fairly high level of affection already, and there was something that really got to me about the moments in between where her true feelings would slip out in a voice the protagonist couldn't hear. It was also really adorable how she hesitated to wear girly clothes because she thinks of herself as boyish!
I got into this starting with Akane-chan, but Aoi-chan was also incredibly cute. Normally she acts like a mischievous friend, occasionally letting her true feelings slip out bit by bit, giving off a bit of a little-devil vibe, but when an unexpected accident brings her and the protagonist suddenly closer together, she switches into a demure, love-struck girl mode. In the final part, during the sleeping-together scene, she ends up falling into his arms due to an accident and he holds her tight, and she lets slip cute little true feelings like "hold me more." She whispers right up close with zero distance, and by varying the intensity like that, she shows off her girly side at key moments, which had me grinning to myself alone in front of the screen. The protagonist also showed manly decisiveness at key moments, and I was convinced—yeah, this is definitely the type of guy who'd be popular with girls.
