Demon Lord Monica's Healing Pandemonium 2

This was an ASMR packed with fun and healing, letting you enjoy a smile-inducing, warm and fuzzy healing time together with the Demon Lord Monica-chan! Compared to the previous work's package, this Monica-chan gives off a somewhat smaller, more childlike impression. Perhaps because of that impression, this work felt less like the previous "healing treatment" and more strongly colored by the theme of "having fun together with Monica-chan in the human world." Being spoiled and teased at a friend-like distance, her eyes sparkling at rare things from the human world—Monica-chan seems to be having so much fun, and it comes through vividly thanks to the power of Akatsuki Mariko's energetic, cute voice and performance as Monica-chan. Her little reactions are incredibly cute, her bouncy voice sounds so joyful—the fun time spent together with Monica-chan is beautifully colored, so much so that the interactions made me let out an involuntary chuckle. What adds to that coloring isn't just that, but also the meticulous detail in the sound design. Every time Monica-chan moves, her horn ornaments make a pleasant "jingle" sound, and since the sound moves along with her lively movements, it conveys even more of Monica-chan's energy and activeness. Because even these parts are so carefully crafted, I felt that Monica-chan's charm came through even more—it was really nice! Of course, as ASMR, it's the reliable, trustworthy, high-quality craftsmanship we've come to expect from Crescendo! In this work, you eat snacks together, and she even shoves slime into your mouth!? You shampoo her hair, get your ears cleaned with tentacles, and so on—a mix of things from the human world and things unique to the demon world, letting you enjoy something where fun and healing coexist! Personally, I really loved the demon-world-exclusive items like the slime and the tentacle ear cleaning—fictional things that still made me go "oh, that's exactly what that would feel like"—and I also loved the depiction of Monica-chan flapping her wings! This is part of a series, but it can be enjoyed perfectly fine on its own! Whether starting from this one or the previous one, please do experience Monica-chan's healing!

It's been three and a half years since the previous work, which I kept on heavy rotation the whole time, so having a sequel show up now is almost too much to be happy about! Given that fan perspective, this review might lack some accuracy. The quality as healing audio is as high as ever. As for the Demon Lord's cuteness, it feels like it's evolved even further—she seems to lean on the listener more than before? It's cute enough to make you die of agony. Yes, the Demon Lord. I'm not sure if I should say this so I'll keep it vague, but the voice actress's name is different from the previous work—no need to worry though! (said with all my effort) If you're a fan of the previous work or this circle, this goes without saying, but even first-timers should find this a purchase-worthy work. Please agonize over the Demon Lord's cuteness, and then let yourself be healed (or the other way around works too).

Reuniting with Lady Monica after three years—even though it was three hours long, it felt like less than 30 minutes, and it wasn't nearly enough. As for the points that caught my attention: First, the edible slime is groundbreaking and really gives off that "demon world" feeling, and that texture reminded me of a certain Rāne-san (though I'm a little worried about my stomach). I like the demon-world-style shampooing, but the fact that it isn't a traditional demon-world shampoo method makes me think Lady Monica has been influenced by human-world culture too—and thinking that the cause of that might be "me" makes me genuinely happy. I really liked the demon-world sand part, but personally my favorite is the hair dryer part even more than the sand—the movement, the sense of presence and realism in it, is truly incredible. The fact that it sounds almost exactly like the sound after I finish showering scores extra points with me. And personally, my favorite of all is, as always, the "horn ornament sound" from the very beginning. Sound-wise, it emphasizes Lady Monica's presence and movement, boosting the sense of healing; story-wise, it appears from the very start and gets its foreshadowing properly paid off at the end—that horn ornament etched these short three hours into eternity. In a word... "Isn't this just great!"
