Chikuon Rail is set in the world of Lose's "Maitetsu" (in other words, it's their own in-house work). Let me explain the difference between this and the same company's other in-house work, Ayakashi Kyoushuutan (set in the world of "Monobeno"). Both are ASMR works centered on getting close with a heroine, but "Ayakashi~" depicts the process of the protagonist growing close to a specific heroine (excluding the heroines from Monobeno's main story). "Chikuon Rail," on the other hand, is about a railway worker protagonist and a personified railway character (a railway unit called a "Rail Road"), and from the very start they are one-of-a-kind partners. The common storyline is the two of them going out on "work" (essentially a date) to "search for good local sounds." (This isn't included in the free version, but in the character-introduction voice tracks of the main work, a silent "reporter" character commonly gives them this request.) Also, since each railway worker is paired with their own respective line (heroine), please understand there is no so-called harem route. (This is a point in common with "Ayakashi~".) The fun, lively conversations between the heroines can be fully enjoyed in the accompanying "anime." (Again, this isn't in the free version, but it's being broadcast on TV, so you can watch it there too... by the way, it seems to take place in the timeline after the anime.) Now, moving on to the essence of the work — the "sound" — it features regionally distinctive sounds as its theme, and it's quite authentic. (Naturally, an individual creator and a proper company project differ in the equipment and budget they can use. This isn't some fly-by-night project either; they've already produced numerous voice works.) As for the voice actors, if you look at the lineup, they're clearly serious professionals. ...Well, rather than explaining at length, you'll understand instantly if you actually download and listen to it. That's exactly what this free work is for. There are sounds that will delight railway enthusiasts, but even if you're not one, these are works you can thoroughly enjoy. Since it's free anyway, I think you should just give it a try and enjoy it — you won't be disappointed.

A friend recommended it to me, and since it was free, I gave it a listen— and the sound quality is just amazing. It genuinely feels like it's being played right next to me?? For some reason it reminded me of a rural countryside deep in the mountains, and along with the nostalgia, a wave of healing comes crashing over me—like a tsunami, and there's no choice but to ride this huge wave... Anyway, it makes you want to go somewhere, and there's this sense of excitement too... I couldn't control my own emotions.

This series has each Rail Road character deliver, along with the pleasant sounds unique to various places across Japan that hold special significance to them. I was surprised to learn that these aren't reproduced sound effects, but actual sounds recorded on location at those real places. You can also feel the passion behind this approach in the fact that each track comes with a voice-less, environmental-sound-only version included, making this a work that conveys an extraordinary dedication to a sense of realism.
