There's no question about the quality of Otonade-ya, but what makes this work especially outstanding is that it's a short-story collection. After 17 rounds of actions that seem to say "I know everything about you," it's only natural to end up believing you're the boyfriend spending the most blissful of times. Man, I'd love to listen to audio like this... That kind of situation sounds so nice... Buds born amid the height of everyday fantasies, destined to eventually wither away. Knowing that was their fate, it was the very awareness of my own inadequacy that supported me. After such loneliness had flowed on for a while, I encountered these girlfriends, and I was utterly, completely floored. The flowers I thought had withered were blooming in full, dazzling splendor.
This work is like the A?engers or Super Sm?sh Br?s. of the voice-work world—say that, and most people will get the idea. Each and every one of the characters has a solid individuality, giving you moments of "ah, this person is just like this~" or "oh, so this is a way to enjoy it too"—all 17 of them are a perfect match, making this a wonderful work you can thoroughly enjoy. Even first-timers are sure to find at least one favorite. By the way... isn't this guy two-timing 17 people at once? Is that okay??
I purchased this because Yamada Jemiko-san participates in Track 5, "Lovey-Dovey Close Girlfriend." "Lovey-Dovey Close Girlfriend," read in Yamada Jemiko-san's characteristic sweet, slightly low voice with that close emotional distance, made my heart feel warm and fuzzy as I listened—it was incredibly comfortable. Along with the equally pleasant ear-cleaning sounds, her gentle, unhurried way of speaking that lets you feel completely at ease from the bottom of your heart, whispers so comfortable you can practically feel the breath right in your ear, lines and acting overflowing with a sense of closeness, and being able to fully savor her comforting and indulgent affection as well as being coddled yourself—all of it made me supremely happy and peaceful, giving me a sense of calm and the most exquisite healing. Also, there was a wonderful comfort to be found in the sighs and breaths themselves, and the ear-blowing and yawning moments gave me the ultimate in healing and happiness. In particular, the ear-blowing right after the opening "I'm home"— from the supremely comfortable, lovely whisper into the supremely comfortable ear-blowing— was so overwhelmingly happy that I couldn't help but flinch in surprise, and from that surprise came the most exquisite healing and peace, which was just wonderful. Also, since it's "Lovey-Dovey Close Girlfriend," there was no explicit mention of an age relationship, but rather than it being one-directional—either only being indulged or only doing the indulging, older or younger—there was a sense that both sides indulge and are indulged by each other, which really gave off that "lovey-dovey, close" feeling, and I thought that was truly wonderful. The other parts are, of course, wonderful too, so if there's a situation or a performer that catches your interest, I definitely recommend giving it a listen.
