The third entry in the 'Sekunde' series. This time it's a night with the cheeky kouhai bassist, Mizuki Shinonoe. She's the kind of 'little devil kouhai' who teases her senpai while closing the distance between them — a fairly familiar archetype in ASMR works — but what stood out to me was how the band activities depicted throughout the series feel properly rooted in her character as well. Mizuki originally had no musical experience; she started playing bass after falling for Kanade, whom she admired. Because of that, it's interesting how she still parrots Kanade's views on music as her own, or suddenly starts passionately talking about her favorite song — she's 'a fan of Kanade even while being a bandmate.' That relationship ties into the included mini novel as well, so if you've been listening to the earlier works, even casual conversations start to carry meaning. There's also a moment that calls back to the assessment of Mizuki mentioned in Shiori's arc, and as a series, the characters are properly connected to one another. In the ASMR portion, Mizuki — who's usually full of composure and teasing her senpai — earnestly doing ear-blowing to the point where she tires herself out more than you was especially adorable. Mayu Mineta's bright, lively performance as the kouhai suits it very well. This is a work best enjoyed by those who've followed Shiori's arc, Kanade's arc, and the included mini novel. What I love about this series is that the characters aren't just ASMR heroines, but are portrayed as actual people — like 'Mizuki Shinonoe, bassist of Sekunde.'
