My Foul-Mouthed Streamer Childhood Friend Is Somehow Only Sweet to Me

I'm a fan of Akane Fujita, so as soon as I saw the notification for this new release, I bought it the moment I got home. Well, it's a 5-star. I won't accept any objections. This work lets you fully enjoy the gap between Yukipiyo's brain-melting sweetness and Yukiji's chillingly sharp tongue. I can say this because I've had the chance to witness her acting live — as always, her acting ability was amazing~ And the bonus track included as a special feature was fantastic too. To anyone reading this review during the early purchase bonus period, just buy it already! Don't hesitate!! If you don't buy it now, you'll regret it for the rest of your life...! Of course recommended for fans of Akane Fujita, but also for anyone who loves the "gap moe" charm and healing. That's all. Off to my 5th listen now~

This was SO good! In creative works about streamers/VTubers, this piece lets you enjoy the classic situation where only the protagonist knows both the heroine's real self and her streaming persona! Just my personal impression, but in this kind of relationship, it's often the case that the protagonist supports the heroine from behind the scenes, with feelings pointing in both directions equally. However, the heroine of this work, "Yukipiyo" a.k.a. "Yukiji," is quite harsh toward the protagonist. It's not the type where she can't hide her affection and it leaks out constantly — the scenario actually gives the impression that she's genuinely somewhat exasperated with him. That said, as the title suggests with "somehow, all things considered," she does end up taking care of him, so it's not outright hostility — through their exchanges, it's clear she does have feelings for him. In this genre of audio works, it's not uncommon to have a heroine who unconditionally affirms the protagonist and showers him with so much sweetness your blood sugar spikes, but a girl who takes care of you with this kind of temperature is great too~! They're neighbors and childhood friends. Yukiji is 17, and the protagonist is a freelance illustrator and working adult, so I'd guess there's about a 3-6 year age gap. When you're young, someone older can seem like such a superior being, so I imagine that when Yukiji-chan was a kid, the protagonist was someone she admired. As they grew older, a bit of distance formed between them — he's no longer the cool older guy she admired as a child, but she still has feelings for him somewhere and can't just leave him be... And then, thinking about how that distance started closing again because of her streaming — I just thought, this is SO good~

I bought this because Akane Fujita was in the cast, and once again I was completely smitten with her acting ability. The role Ms. Fujita played has two sides: "Kisaragi Yukiji," who spits out sharp-tongued remarks in front of her childhood friend with a tsuntsun-dere attitude, and "Yukipiyo," the fresh-faced streamer who treats her listeners kindly. This contrast is woven smoothly into the story, and she portrayed both extremes beautifully. I was so absorbed in the story and the acting that time flew by in an instant. Also, both "Kisaragi Yukiji" and "Yukipiyo" have a firm core to them, and we get glimpses of changes in behavior and emotion centered around that core. In the comparison between "Kisaragi Yukiji" and "Yukipiyo" that unfolds, I felt the depth of Ms. Fujita's range in ways you can't experience otherwise. Finally — A childhood friend who shows so many different sides, actions, and emotions is truly adorable.

The sweet, careful whispers of the ASMR streamer "Yukipiyo" versus the merciless sharp tongue of the childhood friend — this extreme temperature gap is an irresistible stimulus that will hit hard for those who love this kind of thing. The raw, cold way she pushes you away might be irresistible for masochistic listeners! But even as she pushes you away calling you "gross," she still takes care of your meals and supports you falling peacefully asleep beside you — need I say more. The balance between the fan-service of the streaming scenes and the intimate closeness of the everyday scenes is exquisite, and the flow into the sleep-inducing latter half (breathing in sync, gentle pats) is smooth. There are also elements that gently guide you into that relaxed state so unique to ASMR beforehand — I think this is an extremely satisfying work!!

The relationship of a "younger high school girl childhood friend" felt fresh, since it's a dynamic you don't see too often. She complains about all sorts of things while still diligently taking care of you, and her slightly foul mouth adds a nice spice. You could say it feels more realistic than the type who unconditionally affirms everything you do. The honest moments she occasionally shows also give a sense of an adorable, true-to-life high schooler. Combined with the abundantly service-minded lines sprinkled throughout, this was an extremely satisfying scenario. I was also happy there was a bit of a yandere element. Overall, there are many situations where the heroine takes the initiative, which will definitely resonate especially with those who prefer a passive role. Also, the whole thing has a play-within-a-play structure, where you get to enjoy voices of many different character facets in one work: her talk as the streamer "Yukipiyo," the situation voice that "Yukipiyo" performs, and her true self as "Kisaragi Yukiji." Well done. It's also very appreciated that there's a version without sound effects where you can savor just the voice alone. This was a wonderful work, and I really want anyone reading this to give it a listen too.

This is a rare sharp-tongued, cool-type role for Akane Fujita, and it feels like a whole new world has opened up. She usually plays characters with a higher-pitched voice, but here her voice is much lower than her natural voice, combined with ASMR — I think this is a work that even most Akane Fujita fans have probably never heard the like of. Content-wise, she's a somewhat harshly sharp-tongued character, but there's a nice ebb and flow that really pulls at your emotions. Also, her performance meshes very well with the script, feeling extremely natural, and it seems like something that would appeal to a wide audience. This is a must-buy.

I fully expected to get a tsundere childhood friend doing lovey-dovey, super sweet ear cleaning with me, but that's not at all what this was. If anything, it was the complete opposite — a carnival of insults strung together with not a shred of romantic feeling in sight. And yet, even without romantic feelings, the heroine's clumsy kindness and friendship, relying on him as a partner in her own way, was the best part. It was a bit different from what I expected, but in a way that felt fresh and good. If there's a sequel, I'll make sure to pre-order it next time.

Hey! Gentlemen with a masochistic streak... this work is good... Even setting aside the SM aspect, I think it's a work worth listening to even for regular folks. The skill of the voice actress in charge, Akane Fujita, is wonderful... and on top of that, the content itself is excellent. A JK who turns lovey-dovey... a JK who suddenly unleashes her sadistic side... a JK who threatens you... a JK who worries about you... a JK who puts on a fake innocent front... I've never really come across a work with this kind of content before, so I've added it to my favorite go-to-sleep playlist and listen to it regularly.

I usually enjoy listening to sharp-tongued ASMR, and the moment I found this title, I hit the buy button. The moment I listened to it, I thought, this is wonderful. Especially Track 3, the sharp-tongued ear cleaning. The barrage of biting words gave me chills that wouldn't stop. Akane Fujita's voice as the cast fits the character perfectly, and it's the kind of ASMR you'll want to listen to over and over. I highly recommend it to fellow fans of sharp-tongued characters.

For those of us who are a little abnormal, Yukiji-chan's sharp tongue must be a nutrient for the soul. That's exactly what I was seeking when I bought this work. But then, noticing the tiny fragment of affection as a childhood friend hidden within that sharp tongue, my heart naturally shed the shell of pride and surrendered to a woman named Yukiji-chan. Woof woof. On the other hand, let's take a look at Yukiji-chan's — now Yukipiyo-chan's — stream. Perhaps because you, a veteran listener, were caught checking out other streamers too, she gently disciplines her unfaithful listener. Whimper~. I got to experience the pleasurable sense of being "tuned" by the temperature gap between sweet kindness and a sharp tongue.
