Let Maid Sara Soothe You

Sara-san, popular on YouTube, finally makes her work debut! Wearing the classic maid outfit she borrowed (without permission) from side-tail Mana-chan a year ago, she soothes you here. Now, why do I recommend a work by the long-popular Sara-san as an introduction to ASMR? It's because Itachi Yūto-san makes ASMR in a way that is extremely easy to listen to. ASMR is not simply "sounds that feel good." ASMR is a genre of works that presume the listener has imagination. To put it bluntly, ear-cleaning sounds, head-massage sounds, and shampoo sounds are all nothing more than rubbing sounds. So the reason people who aren't used to ASMR get an unpleasant tingling in their ears and avoid it is that they can't imagine what the ASMR sound is and their understanding doesn't reach it. Therefore ASMR creators are required to make works with consideration for the listener. Itachi Yūto-san's works are crafted with that consideration very carefully. Take just Track 02, "Shaving the fine hairs of the ear," for example: ・States from outside the ear and where the sound will occur ・Says it's a hot towel and pats it to show what kind of sound it makes ・Says she'll make lather and demonstrates the sound of the bubbles ・Clearly announces the end of an action, saying "I've finished applying the lather" ・Declares the start, saying she'll now shave the fine hairs, and so on Everything is made clear—where the sound occurs, what she'll do, what kind of sound it is, and when it starts and ends. Until now Itachi Yūto-san's works have had that tendency and consideration, but personally I feel this Sara-san work in particular specializes in that thoughtfulness. The sound quality is top-tier, and precisely because the consideration for ASMR beginners is so thorough, I really want everyone to listen to it. Now, Hanami Run-san's voice really suits the little-devil-like Sara-san, and it's comforting to listen to. Also, the Sara-san drawn by Shibuki Kamome-san, who handled the cover art, is truly wonderful—you can feel not only the character's cuteness but also the high level of completion in the background. I truly recommend it!

An audio work that runs about two and a half hours for the main content alone, and over ten hours including the bonuses. Just as the title suggests, it's about being soothed by Mana-san the maid, with voice acting by Hanami Run-san. Even the main content alone offers good value for the price given this volume, but it's not just cost-effective—the quality is high too, so I thought it was a work I could recommend. From orthodox ear cleaning to somewhat rare things like an ice roller, I got to enjoy a variety of situations.

Since it's an audio work with Sara-san the maid, a fellow "ear-cleaning enthusiast," I expected an orthodox & amazing full course of ear cleaning—but I was surprised that it's a soothing treatment course where she takes her time thoroughly doing the preparations leading up to the ear cleaning. Lulled to sleep by the pleasant, soothing sounds before you even reach the ear cleaning, you might not make it to the ear cleaning on your first listen. But that's what's good about it. The sounds and voice feel so good that there's even the joy of being able to replay it over and over. Before the ear cleaning, there's the lathery & scritchy fine-hair shaving to clean your ears, which feels wonderful. After the shaving, the bubble massage that washes away the ear grime, letting you drift in a haze wrapped in water and bubbles. The swirly, scratchy ear massage to improve circulation and warm you up, and after listening intently to the sound of the moisturizing gel that cares for your much-touched ears, it being rubbed in is also good ASMR. Baby powder puffed on to get your sweaty ears—from an ear pack—just right, and by the time she cools your ears with the ice roller, you're already mumbling half-asleep. A full-course ear-soothing so beautiful in the flow of its ear care. Personally I especially love water-type sounds, so I lost to the bubble massage and ice roller once and fell asleep. The happiest defeat in the world. And the ear cleaning you finally reach is classic upon classic. Being a Crescendo work, the quality of the sound goes without saying. While immersing yourself in it, there's something you're made to realize anew. "It's a comforting soothing precisely because Sara-san is the one doing it." Sara-san's high, cute voice is already too good from the lively, spirited opening, and once the soothing begins, the gentle, cute voice that slowly envelops you is just too wonderful. By the time you get to the ice roller and ear cleaning, it's soaked so deeply into your ears that you can't settle down unless you're listening.
